| Truck.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. Brings a whole new meaning to "crashing".

| OK so what is actually new? I don't see anything in that vid that isn't already up and running (maybe some not for public use yet). Google and Apple are also working towards 'cloud storage' with Google Docs and .Mac and here in NZ major universities already have cloud storage through Bestgrid - speed 10GB/s. I have a GPS in my car so I can never use the excuse "I got lost" for being late again! On our farm and in our house we have security systems that can be remotely operated even when we are out of town. Tablets are commonplace now as are interactive whiteboards - well they are here. Speech recognition is old news. Is there something in that vid that I missed because it all looks kinda familiar to me!

| Whilst i understand your comments, i have to say that yes cloud storage etc and other bits in the video are already used for some things etc. But the point of the video was to show how it will become familiar technology to the masses and not just to a few that can afford this high price technology. Its supposed to show the future for all of us. |

| Yes I see your point. I have downloaded that vid and I plan to show it to some technophobic staff as it really does show how easily technology can be integrated into everyday life. The laptop incident will give them a laugh too! Thanks Justin

| hmm.. I thought I commented on this post? Meh. SO if you've got a lot of personal files, won't it take a long time to download?

| idk. it seems gay that you have to "log on" to your profile as opposed to having YOUR OWN personal data, that is physically with you. although i do see the advantage in having it not affected by the truck error. even so. i dont like having anyone but me having my information. maybe i dont know enough to talk about it though

| I could be wrong but I think the idea with cloud storage is that you don't download your docs. You simply open them from where they are stored. Your computer (or PDA or phone) becomes like a viewer/editor. That's why it doesn't matter if your laptop gets mashed! I'm not sure about security either but I have a lot of emails containg personal information stored in my Gmail account - how safe is that?

| oooh, Okay I get you know. But I think I'd prefer them just to be on my computer, so I know who has got them... And the down side to this is you need to be on the internet obv. But I still know lot of people that aren't
