| Thats another problem...whenever I boot up, it doesn't ask me to boot from CD like most computers, it goes to the "Would you like to boot in safe mode" screen, and I don't have an option to boot from cd... Does the computer care if it is the Windows copy you installed? I have half a dozen copies, and I can't remeber which one I used on this machine...

| Hmm... have you set the CD Rom higher in the boot device list than that Hard Drive? If not, you won't be able to boot from CD. Some modern bioses let you press a key [usually esc] for a menu of boot devices.

| nah, I went ahead and wiped the drive already...Thanks for the help, but I was fighting a losing battle. I'm just wondering why it did this...The drive works perfectly, and the computer is practically new, besides the vid card.

| You may have a bad sector on the drive and until something tries to actually write to this one sector you would have no problems. Then one day....it tries to access that sector and ....boom. Happens all the time. Run a scandisk (which scans the local disk drive for hardware errors) as well as a chkdisk /p (to find any errors) and chkdsk /r to repair. |

| Hi, I think there is some bad sector in your hard disk. You can use this hard disk just for few days, because after some time your hard disk will totally damage and in result you will lost your data, so it is better to change your hard disk.
