Default Finding my computer information
Hay i am new to this forum, and i need to find out the best possible way to upgrade my PC. I use it all the time for games like Guild Wars, World Of Warcraft, Warcraft 3, RIse of Nations ect. but when i went out and bought the Windows xp upgrade (mine is windows 2000 btw) it would not install.

Now i know that the box had the requirements on it, and of course me beigna teenager, did not read them thinking that my computer would compute with it...well it didn't.

So i need to find a way to upgrade my computer, but first, yes i know this is a stupid question, but how do i find out what the specs of my computer are?

This is a very simple task

Go to start
Control panel
Go to the system icon
at the bottom some basic specs are listed please , post what is there and i can help you more with an upgrade

ok so you have a decent cpu and a somewhat agressive ammount of ram

lets see what your motherboard specifications

If your computer is a pre built ( IE Dell, HP , Compaq etc) please give me the model number off the case
if it is a custom computer please tell me so i may give further intructions

Okay

go to CPUID and download CPU-Z toy our desktop and save extract and run it , it is a free program that gives information about your ram, Motherboard and processor , please copy the motherboard model and information down from the mothebroard tab and post it here , and i can assist you further

I cant run it, because i dont have the WinZip thing that it requires, and i cant get one right now
