I think we can cut through the crap. Windows 2000 is a professional product. You can upgrade to Windows XP pro only. If you purchased Windows XP Home as an upgrade you can get your money back for that from Microsoft, if not from the store and purchase either an upgrade of Pro or a full version of Home.

In order to put windows XP home on a computer that is already running Windows 2000 you would have to format and clean install it.
