Default Help on opening a .smi file

If possible. How can I open a (.smi) file on my windows computer?

Can I unpack it on a Mac and then re-pack it so windows can open it?

If that's possible. I'll need a Mac. Uh oh... that's gonna be expensive.

Thanks for any answers, tips, and anything else that would help.

FILExt - The File Extension Source is a good source for these kind of things.

You can view the.smi entry here:
File Extension .SMI Details

If none of them are the right one, try opening it with notepad.

Self Mounting Image (SMI) files are usually used to distribute Mac OS programs. If this is an actually Mac software program, you won't be able to run it on windows. If the file name ends in .bin, you would need to use a utility like StuffIt Expander to decode it.

I know there are programs that let you run windows on a mac, but I am not aware of any that work the other way around.
