Default Outlook 2003 vcard - unable to open in Outlook 2007??

It's not unusual for software to be incompatible - higher version to lower version... But a friend sent me (twice) a vcard from Outlook 2003. I have 2007 and it appeared as an envelope attachment (instead of vcard), and when I opened it, it was empty.

What's up with that??

MS 2007 (and Outlook) does have some compatability issues with 2003. That is one, another is calendar requests. You will not be able to accept or forward/reply to calendar events.

I assume both are due to some of the back end chages to the format for the v-card and calendar request.
However, after searching the Outlook forums (rather short and quickly), I did not see anything posted as to why it is giving problems as it is just a text file. Below is the link to the outlook forums, and you may have more time to search than I did.
