Default Trial version info

Say I download a trial version of software. After some days you get a message that displays that "Your trial period has lapsed and that you have to purchase the software." When you install the software, the information on the time and the date of installation where does it s\reside on the computer? Is it somewhere on the registry and can you delete it to prolong software usage period....

Hi tshimega,
Welcome to the forum - good to have you here. I hope you will be on the board for a long time, and if there is anything I can do to make your experience better please let me know. Be sure that you have read the rules [ http://www.compuforums.org/announcem...post_message_1 ]. And please note - if you only ever intend on coming here when you need computer help, then we will not help you. Please post in other threads as well as your own, whether or not they are computer questions. And lastly, if you do care about whether CompuForums stays online, please consider a premium membership.

No, this is not possible legally. If you like the software - buy it - it takes a lot of time and effort to write a program, and if nobody brought it but used it freely, it would not have been the authors time, and they will not bother with updates, etc.

I don't think and never heard of that if its possible. Its also dangerous to edit the registries. So the best option, just buy the software.

i would also suggest you buy the software if you like it. after all, how would you feel if you spent hundreds of hours doing something without some form of positive feedback? would you go to work if you weren't going to get paid?

I agree with all of the above. doing this is stealing and is very unfair to the developer who has worked long and hard on his software. however... I also have found this possibility a challenge for myself and have tried to see if I can bypass the time limit, just for my own amusement. I have found that with most all recent software it cannot be done without a very advanced understanding of the software. trying to find it in the registry will no doubt be very frustrating and you will give up long before you even become close to finding it. lol

I do have something like that, but I wound't give something like that away EVERY! Used it for some "big" programs. But, if you like the product, buy it, or find something similar to it, which is for free.
