Exclamation amd sempron 3000+

Hi all again now that my lappys over a year old i was thinking about giving the processor a kick in the ass and have read that amd are good for over clocking. it normally runs at 1.81 ghz and i want more lol is this possible and where can i find out how to do it without cooking it. i also use speed fan and have noticed it has this facility but have no idea on how to go about it with out damaging my lappy.
please spread some light

Welcome back to the forum - I hope to see you here more often in the future!
The make and model number of your laptop would be helpful. Overclocking your laptop depends on more than just your processor - such as your motherboard. Also remember overclocking will increase the heat and decrease the battery life of your laptop.

Yes. It's good that like me you call your laptop a Lappy (Strongbad anyone??).

Get us the make and model of your laptop motherboard. Most likely an Intel 775 Pentium D Dual Core 925 (PC Meal -- NEW OPENING --Intel 775 Pentium D Dual Core 925) would do it as it is one of the most compatible and cheap processors on the market.

make and model number are advent 7096 not sure an how to find out what mother board it has so please help (ive never really needed to know) i heat shouldn be a prob got a station with two fans and as for batt life its always plugged in with out batt in, never moves really.
