GIMP is on a distinguished road
Default Can't delete a folder.

I recently completed my new desktop and loaded it with Windows Vista Home Premium. I then purchased the Belden transfer cable and copied all the files and folders from my old XP computer to the new Vista computer. The new computer picked up some problems that came from the old system so I decided to re-install Vista on the new computer and not do a transfer. When I did this the installation program took all the old files on the previous installation and stored them in one giant folder named windows.old. The new computer performs beautifully but that folder is sitting in there occupying about 13 Gig. of my hard drive. I'd love to delete it since it is of no use to me but the system won't do the delete (won't go to the recycle bin). Is there a way to remove this folder? Thanks in advance.

One way you might want to try removing it is running Disk Cleanup [type it into the Start Search box]. Make sure you tick all of the boxes when the wizard asks you to, then reboot. Once done, get back to us and tell us how you got on. If it didn't work, then there are some more advanced steps that you can try but these should get rid of it.

Right-clicking then clicking Delete didn't work but using the Disk Cleanup feature worked perfectly! Thanks.
