Good. Although there is evil on the WWW, i've never been ripped off, nor lured by old (and young) men. I've earnt money, found friends, learned things! Everything, the Web is the best place.

i suppose it depends on how you use it. if you are trying to learn something new or want to talk to the awesome people on compuforums, then it's f#$^ing great! if you use the www to lie, cheat, steal, then you should die a horribly, painfully gruesome death.

Maybe this is what computers in Hell look like. However, maybe this is what some users here on Earth look like who use the Internet for wrong purposes.

It really depends on what content you use the Internet for and how it affects you social life.

The internet was once a beautiful thing, filled with things that people could only imagine. Now people just use it for porn (Yes I have seen The Internet Is For Porn, I want to see the whole play). I myself use the internet responsibly and don't use it for porn or downloading music, mostly nowadays for message boards and downloading serials/cracks or useful programs for my computer.

It is a good thing depending on what context.

Yeah i was the same way I have been on computers a lot too but either way the internet is a very good thing. It's opened up so many oppertunities for people in general

I think that the internet WAS first a good thing, but now it's both GOOD and BAD.

If I was in charge of the internet I would have every porn site server or computer server melted with a torch, so it could never be retrieved. Furthermore I would catch the person that was responsible for the porn and have them executed.
Back in 1850 and before, if you got caught with pornography you would be executed by the state.
What changed? Why are people aloud to have pornography now and they weren't before?
It's because the culture has changed.
People in charge of things like this are acting like little kids.

If a child doesn't have a parent to tell him what's right and whats wrong, the child will steel murder and do anything he wants when he older.

Now the people incharge of the internet don't know that porn is bad and wicked so they let people do this stuff.

If we keep going on like this, the good people with die off, and the world will get more wicked until IT happends. No one can know what IT is, until IT happends.

Don't you think that this world is going down?

If the good people don't speak out and get rid of the bad people then the bad people will increase and the good will decrease.

I think it's a good thing, as you can shop online, play games online, and talk to anyone around the world in just a few seconds. As long as you have stuff such as Anti-virus software, and know how to stay safe online, then you're ok, and the internet is one iof the greatest tools on Earth.

I had a computer with Windows '95 that looks surprisingly similar to that computer.

I voted 50-50 because I think the bad goes with the good same as a telephone once did.

Well i choose 50-50.. Because yes the internet is good becasue we can get informatiion in under 1 second.

and you can do everything online, without leaving your chair.

But the bad thing is, people are being more lazy and not enjoying the good outdoors etc etc..

But that is my opinion.. (Only made this as i went Canoing yesterday and we learnt so much about the outdoor life, cause we did loads of outdoor life savving skills, something i would have never of decided to Google lol.

But im glad i learnt it, and i want to do more of that type of thing, than sat @ the computer, but as soon as i got back, i went straight on the computer and checked the useual.

I believe the internet is a great thing. All it has done has taken another revolutionary step in the new world full of technology. Sure it has been used for bad but then again anything with power to it has been and always will be abused. Just think of the internet as roads. When roads were created they connected everybody all of the sudden along with modern cars. This was used for the overall good but also used for bad such as abducting people and leaving the country or getaways from banks or just helping to form city environments which are always filled with high crime rates.

Your only a power outage away from that buddy. You better rethink that resolution.

As with anything, there are always going to be bad apples in every bunch. The one rotten egg spoils the rest. Well, I believe that the internet opened up such as vast environment for all to use as a learning "TOOL" (Which is what "TOOL" is by the way) as well as a way to solicit business. How we utilize this phenomenom in my own beliefs, is to make sure that we as our own individuals use the internet as a constructive place to hopefully better ourselves, or even save gas instead of driving everywhere to get things. As far as the exploitation of the internet, from credit card stealing and pedophiles, we have to be our own judge of character to make sure that we are doing the right thing when we do things in this environment. A few years ago, I bought some things on EBay, well as it turned out, I bought a few things from one individual, and a few things from another individual. Well, as it turned out, they were husband and wife running different companies. The things that I purchased from the wife's company went with what I purchased from the husband's company. They were all excellent deals! They e-mailed me to let me know that there would be a surprise in the box. They sent me $20 back in cash, to thank me for the business I had given them both. Of course I left excellent feedback. My point is, there are more good people on the internet, let alone the world than bad people. Given the attention that has been given to situations involving crimes committed due to internet usage, I believe that there should be an even better watch dog to monitor internet usage. If we can read a licese plate from outerspace, if we can monitor everyones telephone conversations, then we can monitor the internet environment. It is an enclosed entity.
