-Can't post links, but you can find them both on Cnet.com with full specs. This: HP Pavilion a6750y: Processor: AMD Phenom X4 9650 (2.3 GHz) ; RAM installed: 8 GB DDR2 SDRAM ; Hard drive: 750 GB Standard or This: HP Pavilion a6720y: Processor: AMD Phenom X4 9550 (2.2 GHz) ; RAM installed: 6 GB DDR2 SDRAM ; Hard drive: 640 GB Standard The 750 has two more gigs of ram, but the 720 is cheaper and had a ton of great reviews on (I believe it was) Amazon? So my question is this: I'm planning on going with the a6720y - for the price, if all I'll be doing is basic internet browsing, playing music files, burning CD's, and the use of an occasional program like Adobe Photoshop or possibly even some music program, is this good enough? Or is it a shitty brand/comp/whatever? Is there something "not good" about it? Or perhaps I can possibly get a better machine for the money? Or is this, again, "good enough and possibly "more" than I what I need? Any comments/opinions/suggestions would be great. Thanks!

The a6720y looks more than sufficiant for what you say you want to be doing with it. However if you wanna be future proof and/or plan to do some gaming, then would be better to buy the a6750y. Given the choice I would buy a6750y.

Thanks for the replies, guys! Posted on another board as well and a member suggested that I just "build" my own PC. Sounds like a good idea, what do you guys think? Wanted to ask him a few more questions, but I'd already overdone it, I think. lol What I wanted to ask, tho', is this: Would the finished product (consisting of the below parts) be much faster than the a6720y? I think it's roughly the same price for what seems to be a faster machine. ------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------- 2x :Memory, 4gb(2x2gb) OCZ Blade Series DDR2 800Mhz: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227420 Case, Antec Three Hundred, Best budget case imo, but not sure if you like its styling$58.95 Free Shipping) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811129042 Motherboard, GA-MA790X-UDP4: ($109.99 Free Shipping) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128387 Graphics Card, ATi Radeon HD4650 512MB: ($49.99 $39.99 after rebate) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814161262 PSU, PcPower&Cooling Silencer 500W: ($69.99 $59.99 after rebate Free Shipping) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817703015 HDD, Western Digital Caviar Green 640GB: ($69.99 Free Shipping) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136298 ODD, Lite-ON 22x DVD+/- RW With Lightscribe: ($27.99) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827106280 CPU,AMD Phenom II X4 810: ($169.99 Free Shipping) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...nom%20II%20810 GPU, ATi HD4850$104.99 $84.99 after rebate) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E168141612591 ------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------- Also, do you guys know if Windows 7 would run on the a6720y and 750y if I decide not to build? ________________________ This user added the following: ________________________ One last thing: I can't even find the a67250y for sale anywhere. Anyone know why? Thanks again! Last edited by Blak01; 01/06/09 at 03:19. Reason: Double Post
