Would your computer happen to be a Dell? If you Google ITHR error, there is quite a bit of info available from failing cpu, cpu socket, etc., but most are from USB uplink. In the bios you can try disabling the ability for start up from USB. Hope this helps

Read Dell - Search - All Dell.com Click on Technical Support and see if you get anything there.

near the RAM you should find a little green jumper. It should be on a 3-pin jumper array. Take it pins 1 and 2 and place it on 2 and 3 (symbolically). Start the PC to the dell boot screen... then shut down, replace the jumper in the original location.

If yours only has a 2-pin jumper, pull the jumper.. Start the PC (get to the boot screen) and then shut it down. Replace the jumper Operate normally.

It should ask you not only for time/date but also it should look for devices (ide/sata...)
