ok i havent been on here in ages as i have been studying for college exams. So had some spare time last night and tryied to boot up one of my old computers but during boot up it gives me this error "CPU is unworkable or has been changed. Please recheck - CPU SOFT MENU"

The computer is a
pentium III 400E MHz (66x6.0)

I would like to try to get the computer booted up with the currant windows on it as i dont have the drivers for it (i was planning to take a print out of the hardware list and go hunting for them).

Any help would be grate (and yes am planning to get on here more and help others because all my important exams are nearly done)

I'm guessing your CMOS battery is low or dead because your PC is fairly old. Replace it; Then go into BIOS setup with F1 or delete key. Find the default setup. You will have to set the date and time too. Save it and exit. You should now be good to go. I did a Google search for this problem and almost everyone in other forums said go into CMOS setup (BIOS) then save and exit.
