Default laptop screen 90° angle

My Compaq started doing something annoying. If the screen is tilted at 90° or below, it will shut off the screen. Does this mean that it has developed a short in the wiring? I can only view it from about 91° - 160° (the maximum angle which it opens at) Is this something that i should immediately fix w/ the warranty?

Maybe 90º is where the screen is shut down as in closing. It's under warranty so ask Compaq.

Actually, I just realized that it's just the back light that turns and I can still see the content of what's on the screen, but it's very very very very very very dim.

ya, it's getting worse, i can tell that it won't be long till i have to send it in (second time in a year) it's soo difficult to part with a laptop that you depend on every day. i'll start backing up the files now. uugh

Second time? Nobody should have to put up with that. Time for a brand change.

I just dropped off the package at Fedex. I'll let you know when my Compaq laptop returns and if the problem is resolved. In the meantime, I'm using my old craptop.
