Hey all,
I am going to college so im thinking of buying a new lappy, here are the specs: processor 2.0Ghz Ram 1GB HDD 160GB 13-15" screen with DVD/RW etc. Heres my question: which OEM (IBM/ASUS/HP/MAC/TOSHIBA/etc.) should I go for so that it gives me the least troubles in terms of errors/stupid problems (so that I can concentrate on studies in college) Thanx to ya all ! EDIT: Oh and my price range in around $1000±200 |

All of those OEMs produce pretty good laptops. I have a HP laptop which I have dropped on the floor more times than I care to mention, and it keeps on running. I also have an Asus eeePC which has a very good build quality, but I am not sure if it would be suitable as a computer to take to college unless you have a bigger one accessible elsewhere to transfer your notes to, etc.

It can depend on where you live too. Here in NZ I have no trouble getting parts for my HP within a day or two, but I had to wait ages for a new battery to come from China for my Lenovo!
