hmm something you can try remove your sound card and try to boot again else try to hold f8 after the first screen to boot in safe mode if that easily works u should try to look around in windows event viewer if it detects any hardware failures

Sounds like RAM or Bios problems to me. I think you should try Memtest first to test the ram (will require burning a CD from an ISO image). First, I think you should reseat your RAM. If the RAM tests clean, see about flashing the BIOS, either from the ASUS cd, or from the network update feature. Chances are, if your Bios (motherboard) is bad, you won't be able to boot to the cd to test your RAM. (then RMA the mobo) You could also go minimal to get the system to boot for the memory test (only hook up the CD to the mobo (no hard drive))

After it finely starts about the 8th try every thing runs as it should. There are no beeps when it turns on / off until the last start up then one beep as it should then every thing is fine.

Is it a new PSU you're using?
It might just be a problem with your power pack? try disconnecting all your CD/DVD ROMS, and any fans that you have.. do you still have the same problem now? I'd also just make sure that your BIOS battery is inserted the correct way. I know these are simple little things... but you never know ![]() JAM
