This is my girlfreinds computer and i told her i'd fix it. Normally this is not a problem cause she still had the boot discs. However i got an error message midway into restoring it and the computer shut off. When I turned it back on....it won't go into windows because it's missing a file. I'm about to pop in a boot CD and just erase the hardrive and put windows XP on there instead of the Recovery CD's Vista. Am I jeopardizing the laptop by doing this, or am i just gonna have to reinstall some drivers and crap like and i'll be better off. I need some input because i'm not SUPER Tech savy but i no enough to get by.

You can do this by answering other people's questions, or if you are not so technically-minded, post in our general lounge forum. You might have to find a few drivers, but you can copy them over to the laptop using a memory stick. XP should be fine on there, and will run better too.

I checked Toshiba and did not find any drivers for your model so don't go to XP until you find and download all the required drivers.

Usually it's entirely possible to find drivers for either a similar laptop [often the only difference between the model numbers is the OS/RAM. Failing that, googling the component name and "drivers" will find the correct download.
