PS3's are the best gaming system out right now. I have one and it hasn't disappointed me yet. You can actually install Ubuntu onto a PS3 and run a OS on it. I suggest not getting a 40g though. Its plenty of space but it doesn't work with PS2 games. I don't know why, but the higher gig ones work just fine with PS2 games.

I remember Sony officially allowing and even providing instructions for PS3 hard drive upgrades, so there's no point in buying a big-drived, more expensive one
