Exclamation What should i do?

what should i do, i need to get a cheap laptop, i have 2 options either get a second hand ibook which is a more stable system but a bit less on the hard ware side of things ( 30GB HDD, 256MB RAM, G4, OSX 10.4) or i could get a brand new acer laptop for the same price with vister (which is crapola and very unstable)

i am going to use the laptop for multimedia stuff at school. both ibook and acer are $600 each australian

what do you think i should do?

I'd look into getting either an eeePC or an iBook. Acer laptops are factory-built to fall apart.

Whilst I agree with what ASH has recommeneded. I have to comment on Codys origional post about Vista being unstable. Vista is many things, A resource hog etc but its far from unstable!

Thanks ash i might try an ibook, an eeePC wouldn't suit me with the 7' screen and as for the acers that would explain why there are so many of them in reapairs at school, we've only had them for a week

Thanks

You can now get an eeePC with an 8.9 inch screen.
