| Ok guys so I just put this together: DFI LANParty NF 680i LT - Core 2 Duo E8400 (3.0GHZ, 6mb L2 cache, 45nm) - 2 GB OCZ DDR2 SLI RAM - BFG GeForce 8800GT OC - Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Gamer - and my 250 GB Harddrive. I haven't reformatted it, should I have? My monitor won't turn on I don't get it! There's no onboard video either could it be the video card? It worked in the last system I had it in, I've tried multiple monitors and disassembled and reassembled it many times + thoroughly checked all connections. What am I missing...Please Please help! |

| My video card is the same one from my old computer and so is my monitor. I took the Vid/Sound cards, HDD, and Monitor from the old computer and upgraded the motherbaord, RAM, and CPU. The mobo was used but the other 2 were new. Could there be a setting screwed up with the motherboard or something? |

| idk about the setting on the motherboard. maybe ur mobo/cpu/ram is doa, or perhaps (i know i know, we don't like to think so) a part got pwned on way to new system. like maybe ur video card got shocked or sumpin. idk though, hopefully someone else will reply with better response. hope erething turns out alright man.

| cr4cker When putting together a new build you should start with the minimum amount of equipment attatched. Try putting the video card back in the old machine and attach the monitor. Does the old one boot up? If so put them back on the new board. Make sure the video card is fully seated and the six pin power plug is plugged into the back of it. Take out the sound card and disconnect the hard drive. Make sure the ram is fully seated. Did you put the paste on the heatsink and make sure it is securily fastened to the top of the cpu? Now plug in the powercord. Make sure the switch on the back of the power supply is turned on (I forgot twice in my builds and I got a scare when nothing happened) and turn the unit on. Are there any beeps, how many, how long? Good luck and post back your results.

| The system is not performing any sort of initial diagnostic test and will not beep at all. I have checked every single setting/connection/jumper possible so tomorrow I think I'm going to have to try a new PSU. Not sure what to do after that... |

| so it won't even turn on huh? either psu, or motherboard then right? doesn't psu have to be connected to motherboard to turn on, and vice versa? (or at least lets hope, i tried one of my old psu's, straight off the wall, and the fan didn't turn on)
