Its happened to me a good couple of times. But some of them have been me testing processors to the limit and abusing them (these were spare's) dont get me wrong I dont have money to waste on processors lol.

Yes, one on the graphics card and another big one. But you would have though an industrial strength external fan would have kept things cool, but it didnt lol

That's crazy! I'm a fan freak haha I have the 2 front intake fans, a dual slot PCI fan for the GFX card, the fan that's on the GFX card, a 120 mm heatsink fan, and 2 exhaust fans. Not sure why I'm just overprotective especially OC'ing my C2D 3.0 gHz to 3.8 gHz on air. Good luck with future builds :-D

It was made of plastic, although it might aswell have been mate of butter.

i have had my CPU exceed 90 C because whem i built the computer i forgot to take the plastic of the CPU fan! cause i was in the dark.. but all fixed now

i know when i got my 1st AMD processor it ran so hot it melted the internal modem =\ i was then told by a friend AMD's are both known to run fast and hot...if you overlocking the CPU this is also going to affect the temperature...also are you sure ur heat sink is made of plastic...all the sinks ive seen are made of metal (better heat capacity seems the obvious answer) I would first suggest that you start up your computer with the side panel open and see if all the fans are working correctly upon startup if you are just running the CPU normal (not overclocking) in a non ACed room i would suggest installing a large fan in the side of the tower (helped my AMD) if you are overclocking you may want to think about installing a water cooling system
