| My problem is the next my computer seems to be running only with AC Current since whenever i disconnect the AC Current the computer shutdowns instead of using the battery. I dont think the battery is dead since the computer recognize it and says the battery is 100%. If anyone knows what the problem may be then i appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks in advance. |

| Hello amdx, Firstly - welcome to CompuForums. We provide our computer help for free, so we would highly appreciate it if you could help us. You can do this by answering other people's questions, or if you are not so technically-minded, post in our general lounge forum. Alternatively you can purchase a premium membership to help contribute to the rising running costs of this site. If you can't help us then we can't help you. This system allows us to continue to provide free computer support. -What make and model is the laptop? -Is it under warranty? -How long has this problem existed? -Did the battery come with the laptop or is it an aftermarket one?

| The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite A70-SP213, no it is not under warranty, i just send the computer to clean it up and today when i received it i first notice the problem beacuse it didnt want to start until i connected the ac, the battery did come with the laptop. |

| If you sent it away, then wherever the maintenance was done has obviously broken something. What exactly do you mean by "clean up"?

| Toshiba has a poor fan design and when the fans start picking up dust the computer overheats and it shutdowns so i have to send it for cleaning from time to time, i think you are right maybe when they where cleaning up the laptop they touched something they shouldnt have. |

| It could still be a problem with the battery. I had a similar issue where the battery was at 100% when on ac but when I unplugged it from the mains it would only run for 5 minutes on battery power before losing power and shutting down. A friend had the same laptop as me and when I put her battery into my laptop, it worked fine but when I put my battery into her laptop she had the same problem as me. I bought a new battery and the problem was solved. |
