| If you really wanted "top of the line," you could get a motherboard with dual PCIe 2.0. Even though this graphics card isn't quite as strong as what you selected, I think it would keep you happy for a long time (for $130 less). When it gets tired, buy another one and link them up Newegg.com - EVGA 512-P3-N801-AR GeForce 8800GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics If you wanted to save pennies, you could probably be happy with 600W or greater on the power supply too. If you really wanted to save pennies, the 2.66GHz Conroe is $80 less. It would probably make you just as happy too. Newegg.com - Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 Conroe 2.66GHz 4M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor - CPUs / Processors All of these are just random suggestions. Depending on a lot of thing, they may or may not suit your tastes. Good luck with your progect. |

| You and me are in the same boat man. Almost exact same boat except that my budget is $1,000. From what my friends told me about motherboard's is that you should get a Asus one, I guess that they are really good and come with onboard sound and Wi-Fi. My friends also warned me though that you should not buy your keyboard, mouse, or monitor from newegg.com. I haven't bought anything from them yet but I guess that they mess up mice when the ship em somehow? Anyway I would go somewhere else for the monitor and case. If you can buy the monitor in a store you should save some on shipping, same with the case. That said I would recommend xoxide.com for you case ( I haven't bought my case yet but It looks like it will be great!) I also recommend a Seagate or Western Digital hard drive, once again this is what my friends are telling me I don't have any first hand experience with this. You also probably know that you posted 2 CPU's right? I would suggest the dual-core, unless you are going to do some serious gaming like playing crysis and COD4 at the same time you probably won't need a quad. And I would get one 500GB hard drive and if you need more just get 250GB's after that. Last piece of probably useless advice, with most consumer products if they have some kinda of special name like your "Barracuda" hard drive it will cost more than a similar hard drive with the same specs. I don't know about this particular circumstance but I would check out similar hard drives from Western Digital. Since you and me are in the same boat I am interested how you computer turns out, if you find the time please email me about it at nitefang47@gmail.com I hope everything works out well for you.
