I have just installed a new Hdd in my desktop, and have installed xp on it. I have formatted the old one and put it in as a slave. I can see it in device manager and all seems fine but when i open my computer the drive is not there? im sure this is something really simple. but help would be much appreciated.

Does the disk show up in the Disk Management MMC? (Right-click My-Computer and chose MANAGE, then select Disk Management) Have you restarted your system?
