I was talking to a friend and he said that my GeForce 6200 won't work with my new build. I'd like a second opinion before I go out and buy a new one. Will this mobo and vid card be compatible?: Newegg.com - PC CHIPS P53G LGA 775 VIA P4M900CD Micro ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail Newegg.com - PNY VCG62128AWB GeForce 6200 128MB 64-bit DDR AGP 4X/8X Video Card - Retail

NO it will not! the motherboard you listed only supports PCI Express video cards ( X16) , not AGP cards , they are different slots and re NOT compatible for a good , cheap , low end video card that will run on a 400watt psu , i reccomend this Newegg.com - MSI NX8400GS-TD256E GeForce 8400GS Support up to 512M (256MB onboard) 64-bit GDDR2 PCI Express x16 Video Card - Retail i have one and it is a good card

| I agree with DB. You will not be able to use that card . A lot of the 8 series cards are getting pretty cheap, and can run on low power, and 6 series cards are outdated. If you have used this 6200 card before and buy an 8400, you will notice a huge increase in performance in all applications.![]() Just make sure you get one that is compatible with your mb.

I ran into a problem while putting it together today...the mobo has a 24 pin main power and the PSU had the 20 pin plus a 4 pin seperated. I accidently put only the 20 pin in and tried to power up. The computer won't even show a sign of any life. I hit the power button and nothing...I'm only guessing that is the problem because that is about all I can think of I did wrong. What parts do you think are the culprit to this no power problem? Oh, I might have not set the power switch on the mobo in the right place, but I've tried the screwdriver trick by touching the pins and still nothing.

I assume the 20+ 4 pin power plugs are on one group... dont use the one for the cpu do this : Plug CPU plug in ( 4 pin , NOT the one witht he 20 pin mobo) then do all the rest of your stuff and then put the 20 and the 4 pin motherboard plugs together and plug them BOTH into the motherboard pin a motherboard with 24 pins , will not work with a 20 pin psu , you must use the extra 4 pins
