Default computer under warranty...sending it off to get fixed
my computer has a problem-o that compaq needs to fix. any advice or suggestions before i send it off? i plan on backing up all important files.

yeah id make sure that you back up all your important files. I also tend to temporarlily remove any personal data i.e. name and address and contact details. Although most people are genuine, i never want to risk my details falling into the wrong hands Especially if you have bank details stored on your pc.

i have to add that so far (crosses fingers) i'm wonderfully amazed by the tech support i'm receiving from hp. while i did spend all day backing up files and restoring the computer to the factory default settings, customer support was a dream. i do have to ship it off to hp for repair, but it's under warranty so the service is free.
