| Alright so for starters i'm new to these forums, so hurray first post! Onto the real matter though... I purchased a new computer less than a week ago, and everything runs great. I've yet to have any problems, which is a rare thing for me since i'm pretty much retarded when it comes to personal computers. I had it plugged up in my room for a few days, and today I decided to move it into the living room. When I plugged my PC cord into the surge protector, it sparked then a spark came out of the power supply ( or the hook up where the wire goes...not sure what to call it ). So of course I unplugged it real quick and a small puff of smoke came out. I turned off the switch in the back and unplugged the PC, moved it to a different room and it booted up fine, no problems. I'm actually on it right now. So my question is, how do I find out if the computer is damaged? Everything works fine, plays games, music, CDs, reads the floppy discs and mini disks...flash drive, no files lost or anything. Also no smoke after the initial puff when I plugged it in. Should I just leave it as is or take it to the repair shop and have it checked out anyway? |
