| For the price, you should be able to get a fairly decent amount of power out of that machine

But you probably don't need Vista unless you want to play DX10 games. A standard copy of XP will fly on that build, and you may even have one around already [but we can't help you or verify if it's licenced, nor do we suggest either getting an OS from Bittorrent or using WinXPGenuineCrack_No0n3.zip to make your copy of XP "valid"]

| I think I am gonna stick with XP. I don't have any lying around, but my tech friends do. also, screw the whole AMD and ATI thing, I just want the beat performance I do know that the RADEON 3850 is the best -$200 card but what about an Intel? How can I get a $150 Intel Processor that is as good or better than an AMD Athlon X2 6000+ ________________________ This user added the following: ________________________ New Plan, I'm gonna keep the processor and Mobo. (It's a GREAT MB) and instead ofe the RADEON, I'm gonna run two 8600s in SLI: Newegg.com - XFX PVT84JUDD3 GeForce 8600GT XXX 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 SLI Supported Video Card - Retail Last edited by broke_tech_junkie; 12-08-2007 at 03:42 PM. | I have a recommendation... Go with Intel Core 2 Duo, not AMD. I used to love AMD, but they've really fallen behind recently. The core 2 duo outbenches most AMDs easily. You'll really be getting a lot more for your money that way. (AMD's days as the better underdog are gone, now they're just worse) Also, I prefer nVidia GPUs. That's just me though. |
