Default How do i know what motherboard i have?

I have a Medion MD-1768 and i want to upgrade my processor. I'm just wondering where on the MB it says the brand/model# so i can research what processors are compatable.

No, MD-1768 is the MPN.

I doubt the motherboard has the socket type written on it. But, if you were to Google your computer, you would find that it is a P4, socket 478.

Get a program like Berlarc Advisor, it shows you a list of all the hardware in your computer.

get a program called SIW. Search for it on google and download the standalone version
it give details on your whole system

This may work...Hit start, right-click on My Computer, and click Manage, then click Device manager. Scroll down that list and find System devices. Under that category, find System board and right click and click properties. This might be some usable info in this window, but I couldn't find the model number...
