Default Computer running slow and fan running noisy

I have a Dell Dimension b110 and recently it's been running very slow, my wireless internet has been crashing an unusual amount of times and my fan seems to be constantly on max speed even when logged off a user profile on XP.

I ran numerous spyware and virus scans. AVG-Free spyware scan, Spybot S&D, Windows Defender, CCleaner, Adaware se, TweakNow registry cleaner, and ATF scanner. All of these showed no signs of malware,or viruses.

So i find it very strange that it takes upwards of a minute and a half for programs such as Firefox, aim, and the malware scans to load up and even stranger that the fan is constantly on full blast making it imposable to watch tv or sleep with the computer on, haha. I checked the CPU and it was running on average at about 8% so i don't see a major issue there either.

If anyone has a suggestion on what to do your help is greatly appreciated.

We had a dimension that at times would do similarly, it would run slow and the fan would kick into high.
We had the fan replaced and it seems to have fixed the problem. In the 2 month since, the user has not reported the problem (like yours). I would see about replacing the fan.

We also noted that the fan was not mounted properly, providing proper cooling. The original fan had some broken mounts, the replacement took care of that.

well it turns out all the vents were blocked by dust build-up. Shot some compressed air through them and everything is running fine now, silly me, haha.
