| Hi PC WhizzKid, Firstly, I'd like to welcome to CompuForums - it's good to have you here. I hope you will be on the board for a long time, and if there is anything I can do to make your experience better please let me know. We are here to help you, so it would be appreciated if you could help us by posting in threads as well as your own. By doing so, you are helping to keep this site running in the future, and we will respond to your thread faster too. If you can't help us, then we can't help you. A computer can last for 10 years or 10 months, it depends on the quality of the components in your machine and whether it's been subjected to "bad" voltage and high/low/humid tempretures. If you are talking about how long it is pratical it is to upgrade vs buy a new PC when you need more speed, generally it's around 5-6 years, and for gamers, around 3 years.

| All I did was,is type emachines 620 into my browser........and there are numerous websites that either offer upgrades or even give reviews about your computer - At this point the ball is in your court as far as what you think you need to do with your computer - Personally I am a bit of a scrooge when it comes to money and do not spend it on unneccesary stuff for my computer - "If it ain't broke don't fix it" |
