Red face This Old Mac

So, I have a computer that I could NEVER part with:

My Lime iMac G3 333 with 6g hard drive and 288mb of memory, Mac OS 9 and well, that's about it. I'd use this computer for everyday fun if it had a browser that worked. Most websites won't work with Internet Explorer 5.1 (too old). I've looked into open source browsers but they don't support the dated OS. Since (as far as I know) the ancient hardware cannot be upgraded to OS X, I cannot upgrade the browser for it and I have no clue if Linux would even work on this system. I'm not sure how to make this Mac useful again. Most would throw it on the streets, but I'm other than the fact that I've become attached to it, I'm too tree-hugger to toss it.
Also, if anyone has an idea on what to do, since it's not wireless and has usb 1.0 and Ethernet, is there some sort of bridge I can purchase (I'm not sure what I'm talking about) to make it wireless? I don't know if anything is compatible these days, but I'm willing to purchase something older.
Well, the only reason I'm asking these questions is because I'm tired of seeing it in the closet. It would be cool to see Linux on it, but I don't know where to start. Most of y'all on here are Mac haters and will tell me to nuke the the Lime-Green-Bulbus-Lead-Filled-40lb-Hunk-of-Doorstop-Plastic-Goodness. That's not going to happen.
Oh, HAPPY THANKSGIVING Y'ALL :-)

Damn, I don't even think that ram can support tiger .

You could probably run a distro on that, but it'd probably be sluggish at best.

I, like many others would say chuck it, as far as the the wireless goes, I'm 99.9% sure they make external wi-fi receivers that run off of USB...but usually it's USB 2.0 - but it should still work on that, just less speed.

I really can't think that thing could be useful in anyway...unless you could get a linux distro working on that with an external wi-fi receiver you might be able to use it to back up files. I mean it's too slow to be a web server, but it might be useful to store important material on...

Good luck with it man, I only know macs from Tiger on up (on a leopard G4 powerbook right now) - I used those old macs during computer graphics in highschool...and I hated them...

USB 2.0 LAN Dock - Port Replication Station for PC and Laptop
Check this out for the usb stuff - Also - When I upgraded to IE7 I had to download a patch that assisted when I was on a website that that did not recognize IE7 yet - It would make the website think that I was still running IE6 - Once you were done you would still be running IE7 of course - I got it from Microsoft's website - You may want to try the link below and see if this is a course you would like to go - Let me know what you think.

I've been told to try Ubuntu on this iMac. I want to make sure it's compatible. Anyone know of some super-amazing information that I should know before I start?

Just keep it as an antique - for sentimental value
