Exclamation Video Card

Hi. I am looking for a new pci express video card. What is better EVGA or XFX in the 8800 series? I have never bought either before and I want a really good card. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Try googling for "product name + reviews".

You are mostly, but it is expected for you to have a fair amount of posts in threads apart from your own in exchange for support. This way this site can continue to offer free, user powered support, rather than me and a few other people spending most of our time answering topics which we could be earning money for elsewhere for nothing in return. This isn't aimed at you personally, but mostly the people who only ever visit this site when their computer isn't working right.

Default Issues with EVGA Video

System

ASUS - M2V MB
Processor - AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 6000+ (Socket AM2)
Video Card - EVGA eGeforce 8800 GTS
Memory - 2 Gigs DDR2

I'm having LOCKUP issues running a EVGA eGeforce 8800 GTS video card with 320 MB of DDR3 on the card. The error I get in XP says that the issue is related to Video Acceleration and that I should turn down the acceleration (Hummm - isn't that what I spent the bucks for).

I have tried turning down the acceleration via Display Properties but have not found that to cure the issue. I had the same issue while running the same card in my system with WIN2000 and upgraded to XP Home Edition thinking that would help....NOT.

So some here says EVGA is great....???? I have to question that!

If I had another PCI Express video card to try, I would see if the issue goes away when the EVGA card is removed, but I don't have one. I may get a cheap one to test with.

NOT A VIDEO PROBLEM: Well after bad mouthing the EVGA video card I discovered my real problem may be memory. Sorry if I led anyone away from EVGA eGeforce 8800 GTS. I don't think my card is at fault.
