Default Upgrading Antique Computer

I would like to get some suggestions in upgrading an old computer of mines.

These are the following specs:

Gateway Intel 1000 MHz Pentium III, Windows ME, 20 GB HD, 128 MB RAM, Intel(R) 82815 Graphics Controller

Okay.. The upgrade that I want to make is as following:

1. For the Ram

2. For HD Space

3. For Graphics Card

Well since Im pretty much a noob and this is my first time doing an upgrade do you guys think I might have any compatibility issues with these new hardwares I want to install? Also my current video card is giving me problems, the colors are not being displayed correctly and its pretty much faded. Do you think the Video card I want to install is an adequate one? Other suggestions will be much appreciated!

Zion

i dont see this going well... that computer is so old it may not handle many changes and the intel P3 base will kill performance, your best bet is to build a new computer

Hi zion2k,
Firstly, I'd like to welcome to CompuForums - it's good to have you here. I hope you will be on the board for a long time, and if there is anything I can do to make your experience better please let me know. We are here to help you, so it would be appreciated if you could help us by posting in threads as well as your own. By doing so, you are helping to keep this site running in the future, and we will respond to your thread faster too. If you can't help us, then we can't help you.

Your money would be better spent on building a new machine. I had a computer with similar specs, and in the end I had to give it away to get rid of it.You might be able to recycle some of the parts [i.e case and optical drive] but that's probably about all I'm afraid.

I agree with Ash and Southparkxp101 building a newer computer would be the best thing to do.
