hi, i have just got new printer and am having problems printing PDF and excel documents. i can print word and pictures fine, both adobe website have been rubbish and the printer makers were just as bad. can anyone help?

Did you uninstall the print driver from your previous printer?
What model printer are you using, and what OS are you running?

sorry not been here for a while, not had a working computer to log on with!!! am using vista home premium and a brother printer

It would be useful to know the model number of the printer as well - it should be printed on the box of the printer as well as on the chassis - either under the brand name or on a label somewhere on it. Will you be posting in other threads as well as your own?

the model numbers id DCP-120C. If i can help others with their problems then i am more than sure i will be posting on other threads

Also, did you run the CD that came with the printer?
If so, it is likely you installed an XP driver on a Vista machine. While this often works, it can often cause odd problems. If this is the case, I can find the best driver for you to download and install.

cool will have a look at the other threads. I installed it with the discs last week but have just uninstalled and then reistalled using the vista drivers from the website. would it be a driver issue if it prints some documents and not others. I have emailed brother to try and get an answer also, however i need a document for monday morning.

If you've already installed the Vista drivers and it's still giving you trouble, then we'll have to look into other options. When you have problems printing these certain documents - what happens? Does the printer do anything at all, or does it continue as if you hadn't printed anything?

no the print folder on the pc comes up with the job to be printed then it says that there are none to be printed and the printer remains normal just like i had not printed any things
