Default Can I change my screen resolution

I have an aspire 3000 laptop computer. My screen resolution is set at 1024 by 768. If I set it at anything above it like 1280 by 800 it moves the screen if you know what I mean. Is there any way that I can make It so when I set the res higher it will not move the screen.

Sorry but It's kind of hard to explain what I want to do.

Hey aspire3000,
Firstly, welcome to the forum. I hope to see many posts from you in the future

I'm not quite sure about what you mean by "moves the screen". Do you mean that the desktop "scrolls" around?

Default This is what I mean

Let's say that I set the screen size at 1280 by 800 Pixels. When I apply these changes the screen scrolls around.

This is because your screen does not support this resolution. Your graphics chipset is doing the scrolling. You will have to decrease the resolution until it stops doing this or find out your screen's maximum native resolution.

Default my screen res max is 1024 by 768

Thank you for telling me that. I know that the maximum resolution for my lcd screen is 1024 by 768. What I wanted to know was if I could put my screen resolution at a higher setting. I am pretty shure that I cannot set the res higher without the screen scrolling.

So thanks for your help.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to without it scrolling - the limitation is caused by the actual screen, so there isn't a software option that you can use to change it.
