Default webtastic cam suggstions?

anyone have a recommendation as to what web camera i should buy? i need one for use with skype and yahoo messenger. i've read so many reviews and realize that i could pay $30 or $100. i'm way too thrifty to shell out the big bucks. if you use one and would like to recommend or not recommend it, please share

As with other things. You typically get what you pay for. Watch for the high FPS. You never know, you may very well go into using it for gaming.

I like to look down the road. Which will be most expandable in the future, which will provide the best image quality, greatest resolution. You may never use the other features (post to a web page, motion sensor/security), but get one that will provide the quality you desire. Also, check to make sure there are not lists of "Does Not Work With..." You can narrow your final selection.

What's the quality of most built-in laptop cameras? They're in most new laptops (not mine) these days.

It's usually reasonable. The one in my Acer wasn't that great, but it didn't even work half the time [like most of Acer's stuff]. The Apple iSight seems to be the clearest/sharpest cam, but you need to pay the Apple price [but when you look at laptops at the same size as a Macbook with the same spec, it's not really that bad]

depends, if you want one for talking to friends, you don't need a good one, if for other situations, i recommend you pay more. as has been said, logitech is the best brand, but unfortunately, mine wouldn't work with my computer, so make sure you have the drivers, software, and/or correct OS... the computer system will also effect the cam's quality. all facts to maybe take into consideration, its up to you.
