| Hi kcman123, Firstly, I'd like to welcome to CompuForums - it's good to have you here. I hope you will be on the board for a long time, and if there is anything I can do to make your experience better please let me know. We are here to help you, so it would be appreciated if you could help us by posting in threads as well as your own. By doing so, you are helping to keep this site running in the future, and we will respond to your thread faster too. If you can't help us, then we can't help you. To be honest, your best option is simply to compare prices and reviews to see which monitor gives you the best bang for your buck, and which one has the most reviews. Most monitors will do movies and gaming, but if you plan on watching a lot of movies on it you might want to get a widescreen monitor. Some older games however may get "streched" if they do not support widescreen output.

| One thing you might want to look for is a glossy monitor. It really livens up the colour and con trast on the screen - but it also increases the price. They tend to be more reflective than your standard TFT screen, but unless you intend on placing it where there is harsh lighting or in direct sunlight, you shouldn't have any glare problems.

| No problem, we're here to help you. However we cannot continue to provide free assistance if we're the only ones posting, so it would be much appreciated if you can make a few posts outside this thread and your own problems - whether you post in another help request thread or something in the social lounge doesn't matter. Alternatively you can become a premium member. Otherwise, we will not help you in the future.

| In my optinion, I personally have a 17 Inch Dell Ultrasharp. If you could I would go with the Dell Ultrasharp widescreen. I don't really know about that one, but if it is anything like mine you will love it. Also make sure your videocard has a DIV (Digital) output, which i'm guessing it does if your looking for a new monitor. If not, I would recommend investing in one that does, because it really changes the look and makes it a lot more crisp. Also the features are great, I don't know about the other models you listed, but at least on the dells they have the other USB ports that really come in handy for like a mouse, keyboard, digital camera, ect. Well I hope that helps you with your dicision, if I could be more of a help to you, post back, and I will try my best. |
