Hi drummersam,
Welcome to the forum - good to have you here. I hope you will be on the board for a long time, and if there is anything I can do to make your experience better please let me know.
We are here to help you, so it would be appreciated if you could help us by posting in threads as well as your own. By doing so, you are helping to keep this site running in the future, and we will respond to your thread faster too.

To be honest, you would be better off with simply getting a new laptop if you plan on doing any 3D gaming on it - what laptop make and model do you have now - and what do you need the extra graphics performance for?

I'm in the same boat as the OP.

I'd love for my computer to be faster for gaming, for as it's only 1 year old, its graphics capabilities rival that of my desktop which I built 3 years ago (when all the parts just came out)...

So Blah

I have the processor power to run a lot of games, but not the video card power - and it really ownz me. I wanted to play test drive unlimited sooooo bad - but it got raped, like "flash" every 1/2 second or so...it's only a GeForce 7600 and it's beaten down by my 3 year old radeon rage 9250 - well not beaten down - I got suckered into the "512 > 128mb" trick and traded in my 9600 which went bad for a 9250 (me = owned).

Anyways, all that garbage aside, I'm in the same boat as you because I"m looking to make my desktop a dedicated server which would make this thing my primary computer (as it is now) and the graphics portion is BEAT .
