Hi,
I feel bad about asking for advice, because I never contribute, but I'm not expert enough to help in many areas. But I would appreciate your help. I recently created a new administrator account on a PC, changing the existing account to a limited account. Since then the scanner will randomly come on. It never shows what it was scanning, but it gets really annoying when we're trying to work. Do you know what would cause this?

You don't have to be a computer expert to contribute. You can refer friends, become a premium member or post in our off-topic forums [ http://www.compuforums.org/general/ ].

This could be caused by one of a few things, a virus, a driver conflict or a certain setting. How often does the scanner come on [approximately]?

It seems like it is triggered every time we open a new program, but I'm not sure that it really is. When we're working in Microsoft Word or something like that it comes on maybe every 10 or 15 minutes.
