Default Random IPOD question

I've had an IPOD for about a month and all of a sudden the battery doesn't want to charge. When I plug it to charge (car, wall, computer, doesn't matter) it says "very low battery, please wait." After 4-6 hrs the IPOD is charged and it turns on as usual. It works until I unplug it from the wall, computer, etc, then it dies. I'm planning to take it to a dealer but I'm sure they'll make up something and want me to pay again. Anybody have any experience with their warranties or service?

Was this a brand new iPod or did you buy it secondhand?

Sounds like the battery won't hold a charge. Its a common problem so the dealer should cover it.

Yeah, if you go out to Apple.com then it will tell you in almost the fine print that their batteries will charge only so many times and the then the battery will be dead and you will need to get it replaced but i do think it's under the warranty
