Default Un-partitioning USB

I have a Toshiba 2GB U3 smart drive, but all I want to use it for is storage. How would I remove the u3 software and extra partition? Would formatting work?

What all have you tried so far? Knowing this will help.

Exclamation drive

Is this a jump drive? If so, backup the folders contained the software, then delete them.

To wipe partitions, try this first (with the drive plugged in):
Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Storage > Disk Management

Then on the right you should see the drive with it's corresponding drive letter. Click it once. Below that you should see Disk 0, Disk 1, etc. There will be your partitions. Right click on the bar, select Delete Logical Partition (you had better be sure this is the right drive!), and do this to all the partitions on THAT drive. Then right click again and create partition.

Close all windows. Go to My Computer, select the drive, and format.

Before you wipe the drive, have you tried any of the tools/apps or toys from U3 for the drive?
Just seems kinda pointless buying a U3 drive and converting it back to a basic flash drive. But hey, if that's what you wanna do, Tom's got in nailed.
