| I have a Seagate 750GB external drive that has been formatted and partitoned for Windows XP and drive access is not a problem. However if I turn the computer off, but not the drive when the computer is turned back on, the boot process says there is an unrecognized USB device. Is there anyway around this or will i just have to turn the drive off when i restart? |

| Hi Ragnarok088, Firstly welcome back - it is great that you have returned despite registering a long time ago and I hope that you do not abandon the community again. This is caused by your computer's BIOS attempting to boot from the drive, and there may be an option to disable it within your computer's BIOS menu. Check your boot device priority list, and check that the hard drive group / your computer's hard drive is at the top or before any USB devices.
