So i had a new obsession, Counter-Strike: Source. Possibly the greatest online FPS ever! (after CS 1.6 ofcourse). I just started getting good, coming first in the server ranks, getting lots of headshots and then one morning, i log into to steam, open CS: S and up pops a big error message saying "You have been banned from any VAC2 protected games due to a cheating infringement".
Sucky thing is. I never cheated ='( .
even more sucky thing is, it cant be appealed and even if i found proof i didnt cheat, it's not reversable. Damn Steam to hell! First and last time i'll pay to play a game legally!!

Man that really bites, cant you post on the forum and ask what cheat was used or why you got banned?

Im sure you have heard of PunkBuster anti cheat system, and you maybe have heard of PunksBusted, well I work for PunksBusted. So I can advise that maybe its a false positive? This is where the MD5 of a program you have is similar, if not same as the MD5 for a cheat, which they may have detected.

But im not sure how the VAC2 anti cheat system works, but I assume they do cross reference theese MD5's. I know that PunkBuster has a process running away that scans this.

I would reccomend posting on the forum.

Steam say they won't give out any information regarding when i was 'cheating' or how i was 'cheating' so really, in my eyes, they banned me for no reason =(

If you are deadly serious that you have not cheated, or even downloaded a cheat (Even if its downloaded and not installed, its still detected), then I would consider taking legal advise.

Legal advice which would cost a fortune for a game that cost $20
hmm...maybe not.

If / When they are found to be the guilty party, they will be the ones to pay all the fees.
