Default problem with fullscreen with streaming media

Hi everyone I am new to the site and dont know a whole lot about computers. I just got a toshiba A205 laptop a few weeks ago. I dont know how this is happening but i am unable to view any streaming video in fullscreen mode. I am able to watch DVDs with no problem in fullscreen and in the reduced screen sizes, but when i am trying to watch videos on youtube or any other streaming video sites i am only able to watch the smaller video screens. when i click fullscreen mode the whole screen just goes gray. it still has sound but there is no video.

well, im not sure what videos you are watching, but it could just be the videos format. Also, try using a different software to run the videos. But really, most likely if you are watching them from YouTube, they have thier own format(widescreen or fullscreen) so in the event that you may not know that it is widescreen, there would be nothing you can do about it. Sry

o and justingh, how did that answer the question hahahahaha lol

I just watch the videos off of youtube and another website called bikerpunks.com, I know that the videos on youtube should be able to be viewed in fullscreen because i used to have an HP laptop which i watched some of the same videos on. if i do need to use another kind of software what would you suggest because right i believe i am using the latest flash player.
