Question DirectX upgrade problem

Hi,

I bought a new game last week, and my I found out that my DirectX needed upgrading. So i went to the Microsoft site to upgrade my DirectX to 9.0c, but when i wanted to uprgade it it immediatly jumped to completion screen. So I thought that it was a quick upgrade, but it seemed it didn't upgrade at all. If anyone knows a solution please tell me.

Thanks anyway

Go to Start > Run and enter DXDIAG. Now a diagnostics screen should pop up. What version of DirectX is displayed there?

Default Dx 9.0c

Did your Windows Validate? If your windows doesn't validate, it won't download.
You'll need to download the redistributable package from a third party such as Download DirectX 9.0c (full package) - the latest version of Direct X

Also, be sure to run a full anti-virus scan BEFORE installing any third party redistributable software. I have not tested the file from this site, thus use caution.

Those using Vista should have Dx10. Xp users have 9.0c

It sais that i have DirectX 9.0c but it still doesn't work and there's nothing wrong with the rest of the requirements. The game is btw Spiderman 3. And what i don't get is that my Pc can handle Oblivion, but it can't handle Spiderman 3.
