Unhappy Graphics driver error

I play a game called Guildwars and when I tried to load a new area once, the game froze up. I couldn't minimize so I had to hit Alt+Tab. There was a message box that came up saying that there was an "unrecoverable error" on the graphics driver and Guildwars had to terminate. This problem continues still. I tried to download a graphics driver at the internet, but I was not sure if i was supposed to get a controller, a chipset or something like that. I did try to download one but it did not install. Please note that I am not very good with computers, so please try to make your reply easy to understand. Thanks!

I also forgot to mention this but my currnet graphics driver is a Intel driver.

Hey there Flying Noodle,
Firstly, welcome to CompuForums. I hope that you can visit our forum often in the future and post - rather than just receiving our help and advice, and then disappearing. We provide our help for free, and all we ask in return is that you participate in our forum and refer your friends, or consider a premium membership.

We'd like a few details first. What graphics card are you using - do you know if it's integrated or a dedicated card? How old is the computer, and how long have you been having this issue - have you changed a setting in the game, and how long have you been running it without problems for? Also, is the computer still under warranty? [we may require you to open it up].

Once you reply with the answers to these questions, we'll be able to answer your query. It would also be useful to know everything you have tried - no matter how small - including settings you've tweaked, to save us instructing you to do things that you've already tried.

Thanks for becoming a valued member of CompuForums and I look forward to reading many posts from you in the future,
Ashley

OK, ive tried to download a new graphics driver, but i wasnt sure exactly wat to do there. I can also tell you that that area seems to be the only part of the game i cannot go to. i have not tried all areas, but from ones i have loaded before, most of them are fine.
