Awards ESRB Game of the year 2003, G4TechT.V. X-Play gave it a 5 out of 5
Overall Rating: * * * * * Excellent!
I love the graphics! The battle gameplay exceeds expectations with real life looking soldiers and a variety of soldiers(foot soldiers, archers, cavalry, cataphracts, war elephants, etc.). The Diplomatic gameplay is a bit edgy but follows the actual history of Roman foreign policy w/ other factions. The Multiplayer Mode plays through GameSpy. This game has a very detailed maps with historical battles. The game also has a good Prilogue which acts as a tutorial. Nice use of Spies and Assassins!

Yes, I have played this game several time, it is absoloutly fantastic.
I give is Overall Rating of ***** Excellent too. It is a wonderful game, no wonder why it has held its price, What tv program was it that used the Rome Total War engine to reinact battles that where interactive where they invited teams to come and play out the battle around a table, with computer animations done by the engine?

Ohhhh is it on G4techt.v. or maybe Spike Tv?

no, it was actually on a real TV program on BBC 2 and UKTV History, thats if your in the UK. I think it was called Time Commanders ~ or something ~.
