Default RE: Windows Media Center

to be honest, I think it's Windows XP with an extra program.

My computer is a media PC, but it came with Windows XP and something called InterVideo Home Cinema which basicly emulates what Media Center does.
However, my PC hasn't replaced my TV and DVD player, but I just use it for music.

I agree with you there. Just an add on, not worth buying, or paying for.

Default RE: Windows Media Center

Well, its Windows XP Pro with the Active Directory Component ripped out savagly like how Microsoft does stuff!... Anyway it allows Remote Desktop, and its cheaper than Pro... but all it has is a crappy media center app...

My advice - get an intel mac, they come with FRONTROW the Apple media centre, and now through boot camp you can also run WINXP off the HARDWARE NOT EMULATION. I have FrontRow on my Mac its brilliant, so much smoother than media center for windows. ohh yeah, if you have windows but not media center get open media center and add the MCE theme.
