Ask the user to firstly try saving the document, closing it, and restarting word and try again. If it keeps on coming up, get them to have Outlook running when they try the option. That's the only tempoary workaround I can think of right now, I will do some more research when I have the time, but I run this site in my spare ime so I can't go into too much detail right now.
